About Fasting

Fasting has ensured survival for thousands of years by switching the body to a different metabolic mode in times of hunger. Today, fasting persists for religious, spiritual, and cultural purposes, while also being pursued for its potential health advantages.

There are numerous methods of fasting, each with its own principles and benefits.

However, among the diverse options available, I choose to adhere to the Buchinger fasting method. Buchinger fasting, named after Dr. Otto Buchinger, emphasizes a regimen that typically involves consuming only fluids while abstaining from solid food for a certain period.

The fasting process I guide follows a structured rhythm, which typically unfolds over the course of several days as outlined below.

Preparation
(1-2 days)

The fasting begins with a one- to two-day preparation phase, the so-called detox days. You will have light meals, abstain from alcohol, ideally reduce sugar, coffee and cigarette intake.

Fasting
(5 days)

The first day of fasting starts with a thorough bowel cleansing. There are various ways to do this, and we'll discuss to determine the most suitable approach for you.

The actual fasting involves a structured routine aimed at detoxification. It includes light morning exercises, hydration, small portions of vegetable broth and juice for meals. Hot-cold showers and light exercise help to keep the circulation going. Restful activities like meditation and gentle yoga support to calm your mind.

Breakting the Fast
(3 days)

At the end of the fasting, the so-called breaking of the fast takes place which a raw or cooked apple in the morning.

As the body first has to get used to solid food again, a diet will follow for a few days.

Fasting Crisis
Often a so-called fasting crisis will occur. Usually after the third or fourth day, this typically leads to headaches and a general feeling of malaise. Circulatory disorders, dizziness, flatulence, bad breath, visual or sleep disorders can also occur. Some people sleep less than usual and feel tired. I will help you minimize the symptoms and provide useful helpers to ease the pain.

IMPORTANT

My fasting program is tailored for wellness purposes and not intended as therapeutic intervention. Please be advised that I am not a medical professional and therefore cannot assess or treat medical conditions.

If you have any pre-existing conditions, I strongly recommend consulting with your doctor to ensure that fasting does not pose any potential risks to your health.
